MCC has officially released the Round-2 Vacancies for NEET PG 2025, and this year marks the biggest Round-2 seat pool in MCC history. Difference Between Clear Vacancy & Virtual Vacancy

In MCC counselling, candidates must understand both Clear Vacancies and Virtual Vacancies because Round-2 seat movement relies heavily on them.

Clear Vacancy refers to seats that are directly available for allotment. These are of two types:

Non-reported seats from the previous round — candidates did not join the allotted seat, so the seat becomes fully vacant.
Newly added seats that were not open in the previous round but received approval now. These are also available for everyone.

Virtual Vacancy is a seat temporarily vacated when a candidate moves to a better preferred seat in Round-2. Although these seats were occupied in Round-1, they become available again due to upgradation. The next eligible candidate who has filled that seat in their choices will receive it.

Important: Virtual vacancies are extremely valuable for Round-2 because many upgrades happen, creating new opportunities even in high-demand branches.
