Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER), originally founded as Bharath Institute of Science and Technology in 1984 by S. Jagathrakshakan, is one of Tamil Nadu’s pioneering autonomous engineering institutions. The institute, initially affiliated with Madras University and later Anna University, received deemed university status from the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2002, in recognition of its academic achievements.
