The establishment of this prestigious institute in Vijaypur town of Samba district, a first of its kind and the first of two proposed for the former state of Jammu & Kashmir including Ladakh region, has brought the legacy of creating "AIIMS-like" organisations all over the country to the doorsteps of the people in Jammu & Kashmir. On the prestigious project, about 95% of the civil work has been finished. Within six months, the remaining civil work would be finished. There are 226.84 acres in all on the campus.

AIIMS VIJAYPUR HOSPITAL

The hospital occupies 232 acres of space. It provides a variety of medical services, including as cancer, gastrointestinal, cardiology, and more. The hospital is home to a group of highly skilled doctors and healthcare experts as well as cutting-edge medical technology. A 750-bed facility would be built at the hospital in the first phase, and 1500 and 2200-bed facilities would be built there in the second and third stages. MRI, CT, PET Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Modular OT, ICU, Super Specialty departments, OPD, and Trauma Beds will all be available in the 750-bed hospital complex. In Jammu, a two-story Ayush facility with 30 beds is also being built as part of the AIIMS project.
